The Global Environment Facility-funded planetGOLD programme works to upgrade the practices of artisanal & small-scale gold miners—sustainably boosting their productivity & livelihoods while significantly reducing global mercury pollution.

Led by the UN Environment Programme, planetGOLD is implemented with the UN Industrial Development Organization, UN Development Programme & Conservation International, supporting countries’ commitments under the Minamata Convention on Mercury.
